Mai is Senior Programme Officer at GPG. She is a political and feminist activist who has been working on defending women’s issues, justice, peace, and democracy in Sudan.
Prior to the coup of 25 October 2021, she worked as a personal assistant and manager to the former minister of cabinet affairs in the transitional government. She was also a member of the secretariat of the negotiating delegation representing the Government of Sudan in negotiation with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North.
Before joining GPG, she was a manager at the Tasseety Center for Studies and Research, which specialises in working on issues of democratic transition and transition to civilian rule in Sudan.
