Madina is a Projects Coordinator at GPG. She provides coordination support for project activities between London-based teams and Central Asian countries, particularly Uzbekistan. She contributes to organising events, undertakes background research, and briefs the project team on developments in the Central Asian region.
She recently finished her international master’s degree in European Studies at the University of Glasgow, the Autonomous University of Madrid, and the LUISS Guido Carli. Her dissertation focussed on the Syrian refugee crisis in Turkey and the political attitude towards Syrian refugees therein. Before that, she received a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with honours at the Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan.
Madina previously completed a six months internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Kazakhstan where she conducted political research and provided reports on the EU countries. Similarly, she undertook a qualitative analysis of the local press in certain European countries to maintain up-to-date knowledge of political development. After her time at the MFA, she did a 5 months internship at a German political think-tank, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, located in Kazakhstan.
