Elvin Gjevori is the director of GPG’s office in Albania and the team leader of the Swiss funded project in support of the oversight function of Albania’s Assembly. Previously he has worked as the director general of the Parliamentary Institute of the Albanian Assembly, director general of the Quality Assurance Agency in Higher Education, deputy director of the Swiss funded project in support of civil society LevizAlbania, and as a lecturer of politics.
Elvin Gjevori holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from Dublin City University in Ireland. He received his Master of Arts degree (with distinction) from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary in International Relations and European Studies and his Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude) in Political Science from Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, USA.
Elvin’s academic research has focused on Albania’s institutional consolidation, democratisation, and regional policy after the fall of communism. In that regard, he has published numerous articles in reputable academic outlets, on Albania’s regional policy, international peacekeeping contributions and its post-communist military and security reform. In addition, he has authored a book, published by Palgrave Macmillan, titled Democratisation and Institutional Reform in Albania investigating judicial and military reform in Albania from 1992 to 2009.
