Tim is an experienced adviser and commentator on a range of governance issues, including open government and transparency, ethics, and organisational restructures.
He is an Associate Director at the non-partisan think tank the Institute for Government (IfG), where he leads the IfG Academy’s work with government ministers. Tim works with ministers and their teams, in the UK and around the world, to help them identify ways to be more effective and to ensure that the government organisations they are responsible for are working in the way they want. He also investigates how governments can better uphold ethical standards and improve the transparency of their work.
Before joining the IfG, Tim was a civil servant. He worked at the UK Treasury on a range of domestic and foreign policy areas, and at the Department for International Development. He has a degree in Middle Eastern studies.
