Nick is an experienced advisor to governments across Africa, having played a lead role in the creation and growth of the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative and Tony Blair Institute.
Nick led AGI and TBI’s embedded advisory work in Africa for a number of years, including launching projects in Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria; advising on central government processes and units on strategy, policy and delivery; and across a range of policies including energy and infrastructure, investment and job creation, as well as the emergency responses to the Ebola and Covid pandemics.
Previously, Nick worked in the UK government, in policy roles in the Cabinet Office, Dept. for Business, and as a negotiator at the UK Permanent Representation to the EU. Nick continues to live and work in West Africa, working with partners on issues related to climate, governance, and leadership development.
