Frederick Golooba-Mutebi

Political Scientist

Frederick Golooba-Mutebi is a political scientist and anthropologist.  He was educated at Makerere University in Uganda and the London School of Economics and Political Science. He taught and researched at Makerere University, the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, and the London School of Economics and Political Science.  

 

He is currently an associate of the Politics and Governance Research Group (POGO) at the Overseas Development Institute (UK). His work has focused on contemporary international, regional and local debates on governance and political reform in Africa, including post-war reconstruction and state building and democracy assistance. He has been a consultant for bilateral and multi-lateral organisations including the United Nations, the World Bank, International IDEA, DFID, Irish Aid, SIDA, Danida, USAID, and international think tanks, including the Rand Corporation (USA), Institute for Strategic Research (France) and French Institute for Research in Africa (Kenya). He comments on regional affairs in Africa’s Great Lakes region for local, regional and international print and electronic media.
